5 Best RV Parks To Stay at for Arizona Super Bowl 2023

Dec 2, 2022 | RV Parks & Campgrounds

Super Bowl 2023 will be held at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale Arizona. As the date comes closer, many people are searching for hotels and other accommodations for the year’s biggest night in football.

No doubt, prices will double and even triple in the coming weeks as people around the country start to book hotels and other rentals. Worst of all, these places will be fully booked in a matter of weeks. If you’re one of those football fans who is looking for somewhere affordable to stay during game week, we have some suggestions for you.

One of the best accommodations for the Super Bowl is an RV park. Think about it – very few people will even consider staying in these parks since not all people have RVs. This is why it’s a good alternative. Renting an RV is fairly easy and affordable, and an RV park will give you a comfortable place to sleep and relax before and after the Arizona Super Bowl.

Here are our top recommendations:

Saguaro Skies Luke AFB Famcamp, Glendale, Arizona

Parking at Saguaro Skies FamCamp is one of the best ways to enjoy Glendale and to save on RV costs. Nightly rate is $35 for 2 adults, minor children, and up to two pets. They’re also conveniently located near the stadium and Gila River Arena.

One of the best things about this campground is that it is fairly new. They have 61 full hookup sites, free laundry, showers, and wifi in the lounge area. They can accommodate Class A, B or C motorhomes. The campground also makes a nice base for any Phoenix-based activities you might want to embark on.

The park itself does not have a lot of amenities compared to others. However, it is close to the Commissary, Shoppette, and Base Exchange – making it convenient for guests. There is also a dog park nearby as well as a ballpark, playground, and gym near the base.

Because the park only has 61 sites, we suggest you book and call early. You can expect it to get booked quickly due to its proximity to the stadium and popularity with families and vets.

Sundial RV Park, Peoria, Arizona

With 102 RV sites featuring full hookups and 50 amp electric, Sundial RV Park is one of the most popular parks in the area. It allows big-rig access and can fit RVs of up to 50 feet in length.

Located just 10-15 minutes away from the stadium, this park is also near popular Peoria attractions like Lake Pleasant for hiking and water activities, Old Town Peoria for nostalgia and Honey Hive Farms for local honey. There’s also shopping and local food.

They have a daily rate of $35 and pets are allowed. Their amenities are pretty basic. Laundry is available and so is sewer hookup. There are lots of long-time residents in the park and it feels like a tight-knit community rather than an RV park.

This is a good choice if you prefer a no-frills setup that’s close to the Arizona Super Bowl stadium.

Pleasant Harbor RV Resort, Peoria, Arizona

Pleasant Harbor RV resort certainly holds up to its name. Resort-like amenities include a clubhouse, pool and Jacuzzi, pickleball, bocce ball, basketball, horseshoes, laundry facilities, showers, convenience store and picnic grounds.

One of the best things about this park is their rates. The cheapest rate is $70.00 per night for the smallest type of camper with access to all the amenities. You can choose the nightly rate or go for their weekly and monthly rate depending on your stay. If you plan to stay for a week, the cheapest price for the smallest lot is $470, which enables you to save some money.

Other amenities include 253 full hookups, a full service marina, boat rentals, on-site propane delivery and the marina bar and grill.

The pricing is a bit more expensive compared to our first 2 suggestions, but the amenities make up for the basic facilities offered in Saguaro and Sundial. This is a good choice if you want a park with more bells and whistles. Pleasant Harbor RV Resort is also located in Peoria, near the stadium.

Mesa Gardens RV Park, Mesa, Arizona

This RV park is in Mesa, making it around 40 minutes away from State Farm Stadium. It’s farther than the first 3 choices but you don’t have to drive an RV to stay here.

The whole site has 50 amp full hookups, free wifi, patio area with grill, 24-hour bathroom facilities with laundry and recreation area, and  is pet friendly (except for park models)

Westworld Campground, Scottsdale, Arizona

The Westworld Campground in Scottsdale is also some distance away from the State Farm stadium, making it an ideal choice to stay in during the Super Bowl as it will be less popular with other football-RV goers.

They have 398 permanent sites in 8 different lots across their property, making it the biggest park out of all 5 here. All spaces have electric, water and dump station hookups. Their nightly RV rate is $39.91. Sadly, they have no weekly or monthly rate available.

With such a low rate, you can’t really expect much from this park. They are located at the base of the McDowell Mountains, so you have a bit of peace and quiet plus a view. The space of the campground is huge and is frequently used for events like horse shows, dog agility games, and car auctions.

You can check out their calendar of events and catch a show before or after you go to the Arizona Super Bowl in Glendale. The dog and horse shows are really popular.

  • Electricity, water & dump station hookups
  • Close to Phoenix Waste Management Open which is on the same weekend as the Super Bowl

  • $39.91

Wrap Up

Renting an RV and securing a spot at an RV park could be a cost-effective solution to the expense of the upcoming Arizona Super Bowl. The cheapest price for renting a small RV is around $175. Add this with the cost of gas and RV park fees, and it could be a cheaper alternative compared to shelling out thousands of dollars per night for a hotel room.

If you’re dead set on staying in Phoenix for the Super Bowl, our advice is to book an RV and RV park accommodations as soon as possible. Ticket prices can go up or go down depending on the teams but the cost of hotels will only double or triple as the event nears.

To make the trip more affordable, you can split the cost of the RV rental and park fees with friends who are also going to watch the game.

Renting an RV and staying at a RV park is a fun and affordable way to go on vacation with family and friends. You can use the time before or after the game to relax and explore Scottsdale, Glendale, Mesa and Phoenix.
